Not indifferent citizens say about psychiatry. M

Mad  Mike      if someone thinks e.t.c. is effective then go stick your tongue in a electrical outlet you fucking slack jawed inbred....

Madmom     i hope your book will sell lots of copies and get on the best seller list so more people of the ‘worried well’ will be advised to steer clear of psychiatry. As my friend Marcia says about living in our times, “If you are not disturbed, there is something wrong with you!” My belief that people experiencing overwhelming distress, anxiety or depression should steer clear of psychiatry is not to make light of people’s pain but only that we need to redouble our efforts to educate people that psychiatry can quickly compound one’s problems and what is needed is a full fledged common movement to create caring, tolerant and compassionate communities and sanctuaries for people whose emotional needs are not met by family members and friends.

Maggie  McCarthy       I am wondering if the creator of the video has ever know or even met someone with schizophrenia? Yes, psychiatry along with many other medical professions, has become skewed by money (profit); But to jump to the conclusion that there is no such thing as mental illness seems and like poor judgement not to mention what your own pathology must be on the subject.

Margaret Motheral    Los Angeles, CA    I am a whistleblower about lead .mercury and other haz mat conditions that I was exposed to and made ill by the Philadelphia Government and crony developers. They broke a lot of laws and launched a severe retaliation campaign against me. Denied me haz mat emergency care, refused to listen to my doctors who said to remove me, broke all kinds of laws and committed political abuse of Psychiatry many times in trying to get rid of me. These crimes were all supported by the District Attorney Seth Williams, City Council, the mayor and police. I was not mentally ill. I was and am ill from their felony of mercury & lead poisoning and now traumatized by their severe abuses.

You can use science to justify anything. Psychiatrist persecute the odd and justify it by calling it science (you can't have lab rats running around free

margaret walker Австралия      This is way overdue. Forcing people to be locked up and traumatized by these people is NOT acceptable now or ever. In my experience it's certainly not beneficial to the victim. In many cases this hideous practice causes more harm than good. Seems the drug companies need to step aside as their drugs are causing premature deaths and destroying people's lives. We don't force people suffering other health problems to have treatment. Give the person the right to choose. A real voice and choice.

Margarita  Caudill        I agree this pseudo science is harming school children with invented ilnesses in order to "treat" them with harmful, toxic drugs with the sole intention to cause them harm.

Mari Black   In what ways can psychiatric treatments, and the relationships between psychiatrists and patients, be appropriately characterized as "abusive"? On his blog, MIA Foreign Correspondent David Healy posts an excerpt from his book Psychiatric Drugs Explained that explores some of the similarities between situations of child or domestic abuse and psychiatrist-patient dynamics.
Healy starts from the premise that sometimes forced psychiatric treatment may be necessary, but then describes situations "where a paternalistic approach to patients may involve an insidious loss of autonomy that may be counter-therapeutic and ethically dubious."
He then delves into the psychological dynamics of the power relationships between psychiatrists and patients in terms of over-prescribing and excessively high doses of drugs, the dependence of patients on the source of their prescriptions, fears of disclosure, lack of public awareness of or political support for victims, and entrapment.
"A common response to this point is that there is a difference between the intent to take advantage of children found in child abuse and the worst that clinicians can be accused of," writes Healy. "Doctors do not casually or deliberately ‘violate’ their patients. This probably overestimates the degree of conscious intent to harm in many cases of child abuse and sexual harassment and underestimates the harm that can be done by clinicians ‘who know best’."

Mari Black   Throughout history, societies have existed with far less coercion than ours, and while these societies have had far less consumer goods and what modernity calls “efficiency,” they also have had far less mental illness. This reality has been buried, not surprisingly, by uncritical champions of modernity and mainstream psychiatry. Coercion—the use of physical, legal, chemical, psychological, financial, and other forces to gain compliance—is intrinsic to our society’s employment, schooling, and parenting. However, coercion results in fear and resentment, which are fuels for miserable marriages, unhappy families, and what we today call mental illness…
Marie Martin   Dunmore, Канада      I have a few good friends with autism and down syndrome. So I'm signing to make sure that people like my friends aren't tortured for being themselves.

Marie Webster    I was angry, but I’m not even that angry anymore. I’m just sad. I see everyone’s perspective in the situation, and it’s just a sad situation which is unlikely to change as long as everyone is afraid. People are so afraid of each other. Civilians are afraid that we are dangerous to ourselves or others, so they call the cops on us or take us to institutions. The cops have the same fear as the civilians, so they take us to institutions. Psychiatrists are afraid of letting us out, afraid we might hurt ourselves or others, and then the doctor could be potentially blamed and out of a job that supports his/her family. We who are labeled crazy are afraid of everyone else because we are afraid of being stripped of our human rights and locked up if we say the wrong thing on a bad day. Basically, I think the real problem is our fear of other people, especially the fear of people who are different from us. This manifests in other areas of society as well.

what a hospital is and what a prison is. If you can not leave the room you are in, that is a prison, not a hospital. Those in authority do call it a hospital as there is no one to oppose the statement.
“Why were these hospitals successful?” Who reports the success versus failure? The lobotomy was judged a success by those that gave the operation. and the new technique to control the “ill”, given a Nobel prize.
Locking people up does control them and does stop them from abusing drugs and alcohol and such things. You can call it medicine? Who is paying for the medicinal treatment of steel and concrete walls?

Martin Baiada     Sir Winston Churchill is considered by many as the greatest Briton of all time. As Prime Minister, he lead Great Britain through the Second World War where his refusal to surrender to Nazi Germany inspired the country.
As the nation reflects on his courage, determination, and leadership of war time Britain, it is also worth knowing that, in December 1942, he wrote about psychiatrists.
An insightful and inspirational leader, he wrote:
“I am sure it would be sensible to restrict as much as possible the work of these gentleman, who are capable of doing an immense amount of harm with what may very easily degenerate into charlatanry. The tightest hand should be kept over them, and they should not be allowed to quarter themselves in large numbers upon the Fighting Services at the public expense.
There are quite enough hangers-on and camp followers already.”  http://www.cchr.org.uk/latest-news/sir-winston-churchill-psychiatry/

Mary Ellen Persuit STOP THE MURPHY BILL..... One politician, Representative Tim Murphy (R-PA), has exploited the mass shooting tragedy at Newtown, and every tragedy since, to launch a crusade against people diagnosed with “severe mental illness.” The research evidence shows that people with a psychiatric diagnosis are no more violent than the general population. They are far more likely to kill themselves, or to be killed by law enforcement, than to kill another person. Murphy’s focus on people with mental health diagnoses as violent and incompetent is not only wrong, it actually serves to increase fear, discrimination and social distancing. When mental health is treated as a public safety issue rather than a public health issue, then we have taken a disastrously wrong turn.

Mary Farina   New York, NY     This is cruel and inhumane. This is not treatment--it is torture! Where is our humanity? The people who are using these devices should be held responsible--criminally!

Mary Maddock    Mad doctors who have the power to define others as 'mad' just because they believe the 'evidence' they often create themselves! They have the financial power, aided by other powerful people, to make their opinions seem 'scientific'!

Mary  Powers     Most  mass shootings have one thing in common. Mental health and mental health drugs. You wouldn't think this would have anything to do with it but those hiding in the background are affecting change with the use of drugs and 'therapy' in an attempt to help those who would disarm America completely in order for power and control
Mary  Powers      I know what you mean Jon. My son has been stolen from me by psychiatry. All I can do for him now is pray as the state (with lies) took over. Nothing I did helped. Please pray for Quinn. Thank you.

Martin Taniane   Of course they know exactly what they are doing. How could one possible do any job for years and years and not learn anything from their own handiwork. If I did not do a job correctly I would not expect to get paid for it, yet psychiatrists gets top dollar for destroying peoples lives. And let us never forget for every life they destroy there is a whole family that has been affected also in one way or another.

Matt Weaver    ever since I got all fucked up by psychiatry I can't stop listening to this song.....and since I told my shrink to fuck off and die...........I can't stop this song !!!!!!

My body still clings to life
Only my spirit is gone inside
I pray for death every night
But I keep waking up alive

I cut myself for infliction
And I still spit at my reflection
I hate everything I am
I have my friends to thank for that

So I keep taking my meds
And I do what my doctor says
I hate myself more everyday
I guess I'll always be this way

I've learned that love is dead
And that people just get fucked instead
And all the while making friends
Just to fuck them in the end

Everyone I touch infects me
Cancer in flesh, there is death all around
Everyone I touch, I infect them
Black and dead is my heart

Alone,
I pace and I tear at my skin and my hair
Burn myself for some relief
From a sick fucking joke of a life
The punchline is when I die
And come back as me for eternity
Just to fuck up everyday?
And fail the ones that I love by being alive

I don't know who I am anymore
A parasite in human disguise?
Searching for a piece of shit with all of you fucking maggots and flies
Everyday I feel that I just can't do anything right
I'm sorry if you know my name
I'll probably fuck up your life

Matthew Morris Maurice Hase    Psychiatrist are so egotistic they NEVER have believed in equal rights, liberty or due process of law. Instead they lock up innocent people and make money from destroying equal rights. Are you sad? Do you feel bad? Or are you mad because they destroyed you equal rights with their egotism?
Matthew Morris Maurice Hase    Has anyone besides me noticed that pro-psychiatry people are egotist? Psychiatrist are delusionally positive about themselves and delusionally negative about their patients. Psychiatry is all about egotist bashing innocent people and that is one of the reasons I hate them dearly. Our brains, bodies and behavior is none of their business. The way psychiatrist steal control away from people, they ought to be called psychiathieves

Maurice Frank   Edinburgh  South Queensferry  I had already sent there on Sep 7 a file of sources on my teenage case, 1980s, when I had been abused by breaking point schoolwork pressure. It was not much about drugging, just a few valium pills. It was about threat of compulsion unless I obeyed a list of dictated personal changes that were nothing to do with why I was there, needing to escape from which prevented escape from the school abuse.

Maxine Hayden   The Case Against Psychiatry began as notes I wrote after attending the annual Mood Disorders Symposium at Johns Hopkins University in 1988. During the following days, months, and years I repeatedly re-read those notes, added ideas as they occurred to me, and read many books and articles about psychiatry.  In the process I attended the Mood Disorders Symposiums at Johns Hopkins in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994, as well as other programs.  Over time my notes became a large unpublished manuscript.  In the 1990s I published excerpts from that manuscript as pamphlets using the pseudonym or pen name Lawrence Stevens.  This book is updated and expanded versions of those pamphlets and four additional essays: The Myth of Psychiatric Diagnosis, Why the Myth of Mental Illness Lives On, Why Psychiatry is Evil, and The Future of Anti-Psychiatry Activism.
In these essays I have assembled the most credible witnesses against psychiatry I could find.  I am therefore as much an editor as an author.  In every case where I can remember the source of facts or an idea I have given the writer or speaker credit.  This approach enabled me to write a more convincing and compelling case against psychiatry than would have been possible by simply stating my personal opinions.
In recommended reading or videos at the end of some essays I have listed books, articles, and videos, all of which I have read or watched in their entirety …

// ME  G93.3       Psychiatry is hijacking (re-diagnosing and renaming) more and more physical illnesses, using manipulative and coercive methods to inflict harmful treatment on the unwary.  People who complain or suffer severe harm at the hands of psychiatry are ridiculed or sectioned (http://sophiaandme.org.uk/ look up the death of Sophia Mirza on youtube).  People need to be aware BEFORE it happens to them or their family or friends.  Thanks for this.

Melanie Tobias    Welland, Канада    This so called treatment is sickening! The people giving the shocks should also receive the shocks, and shock them more when they react to it, see how they like it! This is just gross! :(

Melinda Simoneaux    Metairie, LA       Absolute horror! These kinds of acts are abusive and this school has approved terrorism on these poor children. I pray the FDA or any government entity that sees this petition helps to put an end to this torture. Unacceptable.

Melody  Gagnon       In this day and age, people with Mental Health issues are still being treated unfairly and unjust. I know this because I am one of the many people who have been treated unfairly. I beg of you to do what is right for the Human Race, which includes people with mental illness.

Melissa Breusch    All these meds the government through the physiatric imedical industry is pumping these meds even into children and it is just altering their brain chemistry, many of them cause sucidal thoughts. I hate the labels and the damage that alone causes.

Meschelle Linjean     ...My primary care doctor then sent me to a psychiatrist, with whom I made the ill-fated decision to take Ativan on a nightly basis—to prevent future panic attacks—because I did not want to have the sexual side effects of an SSRI. This was the worst decision I ever made.  https://www.madinamerica.com/2018/03/psychiatry-poured-oil-hill-climbing/

Mia Mantri    Durham, United Kingdom   miamantri%40yahoo.co.uk      I think a person not being able to talk about their suffering, either because nobody will listen or they shame the individual to the point they think they're to blame can certainly exacerbate their suffering. I feel this happening to me did me a lot of harm. But the "treatment" that the psychiatric system offers does more harm than if they received no treatment and generally offers more of the same silencing and shaming. I think people's distress is largely environmental and a change in environment - more support and less judgement - is usually the remedy, not drugging.

Michael  Caprino      +Miles Dugmore   yes I agree with what you say, when I think of all the kids on these damaging drugs for years it sickens me but knowing that you have the ability to change that is something you must try and do.
Michael  Caprino       +Teresa van Lieshout AHMEN to that psychiatry is a shame more a form of social control than helping people who are suffering and need to help, you can't abolish it but you change it for the better.
-STOP PUSHING DRUGS.
-STOP DRUGGING KIDS WITHOUT THEM KNOWING THE EFFECTS OF THE DRUGS.
-STOP FORCE DRUGGING
it's not the duty of the survivers of psychiatry, but evil prevails when good men stand by and do nothing.

Michael  Evison      The worlds psychiatric industry is an industry out of control. They follow their DSM more than the laws of human rights.

Michael  Fox      Thank you so much for your story Kat. I admire so much the strength you must have to have persevered for so many years. Your writing is very powerful and moving – I believe your story will be able to help so many others gather strength to believe in themselves.

Michael Kipp    Fresno, CA      Because this unequivocally torture, without a shred of doubt. How in the fuck is this school STILL open!? Why in the hell hasn't the State Government in Canton, Massachusetts shut down this school and put the staff in prison!? I myself worked with those who had both less severe and very severe disabilities, and THEY DO NOT DESERVE THIS. AT ALL. There will be a special place in hell for the people who tortured these students, and I hope they never have a job again!

Michael McHale   Edinburgh, Великобритания     This barbaric.treatment must stop

Dr. T. Michael Roberts   Tavares, FL     A mind is a terrible thing to waste. But, it is so much worse to systematically destroy a mind, and worst still to do so under the guise of providing help to another human being. As Thomas Szasz wrote many years ago, in responding to the many accusations then current that psychiatry as practiced in the Soviet Union was a human rights abuse, psychiatry is per se a human rights abuse. Cold War era American psychiatrists were able to clearly see Soviet psychiatry as a human rights abuse only because the wrong people, from the American perspective, were being destroyed. The American psychiatrists were able to describe Soviet practice as a human rights abuse and to do so in great detail because this difference in target was the only difference between Soviet practice and American practice. The technical vocabulary of psychiatry is a language of loathing. It can only be used in good faith by a "helping professional" who is in denial about how it is used, against whom, on what authority and with what result.

Michelle  Brunetta       I have been abused by the psychiatric department of Shasta County for the better part of 10 years .. there now holding my child in foster care on grounds that it they deemed
me unstable for taking myself off of all toxic prescribes medications from the 27 doctors that I saw during that period. I am more than aware of all of the abuses brought on by Big Pharma and the psychiatry department. As well as the school system that is pink paid a certain amount of money for diagnosing our children with ADHD within their school system. It is an absolute outrage .. and I for one, am fed up!

Mickey      (626) 394-0916 (Pacific Daylight Time)
We here are all aware that the medical model of “mental illness,” aka biological psychiatry, continues to dominate our system of “treatment” for individuals in emotional distress and for persons whose behavior is perceived to be annoyingly aberrant by others. Despite massive amounts of evidence which, in a fair world, would and should undermine this status quo, the pharmaceutical/psychiatric complex has worked tenaciously to create, maintain, and extend the dominant system — which has led, as a consequence, to support from mainstream media, courts, the entertainment industry, the general public, and, it seems, every elected national official.
This is despite the best efforts of many — practitioners, academics, journalists, and individuals
To date little progress has been made toward that end.

Mike  Hlebechuk        Why did the doctors tell me--an intelligent, gifted person--that I would never work, would never get through school, would be on medications for the rest of my life, and should stay on social security disability indefinitely? I tend to excel at whatever I do, but I was told I'd never do anything beyond a social security check."

Mildred Robbins     Detroit, MI      No one should be treated like this. If this was an animal, they would be in jail.

Miles  Dugmore   Psychiatry is a convienient means of societal control. Behave as tough you break the law, you are called a criminal and they put you in jail. But if what you do is not criminal, but "society" does not like your behaviour, then they call you "mentally ill". "Society" is what causes peoples "distress", but better to blame the individual than consider the "illness" is within society...

Millicent  Donham       Have seen many children's lives ruined by psychiatric drugs given by our public schools!

MindFreedom      Forced psychiatry, also known as 'involuntary psychiatry', 'psychiatric commitment', 'involuntary treatment', 'forced treatment', 'assisted treatment', 'court ordered treatment', 'sectioning', 'psychiatric hold', is the forced imposition of psychiatric interventions upon an individual by the government, against the will of the person targeted. Forced psychiatry has a long and grisly history dating back a couple hundred years that most people are aware of, but today, in the modern era, this controversial government practice hides in the shadows. Behind the closed doors of psych wards, government mental health system workers carry out violent forced 'treatments' against the will of those that are undergoing mental and emotional crises. To add to the silence, the stigma of being labeled a 'mental patient' and the trauma from these horrific experiences at the hands of the system prevents more people speaking out and fighting for their rights. Many forced into psychiatry have died at the hands of the system. While forced psychiatry may be an issue society would rather keep hidden and not talk about, this doesn't make this controversy any less real, as millions of people worldwide have had psychiatry forced on them. MindFreedom envisions a society where people no longer have to live in fear of psychiatry being forced on them, where human rights apply to all humans, not just those without psychiatric diagnoses.

Missy and Skylar Freels        Just to clarify, we’re asking for acceptance mostly from folks on here and at most, the culture at large. We have no real hope that psychiatry will pull its head out of its ass enough to accept multiples as we are. If we come off as a little pleading, that’s mostly me (Skylar) trying to sound as reasonable as possible while asking you all to accept what many consider an unbelievable phenomenon.

Mohammed Rahman London, Великобритания      Psychiatrists will most likely burn in hell for eternity. It's going to be very hard to get into heaven when everybody and their dog is pissed off at you and is actively praying for you to burn in hell forever. Taste the fruits of what you have earned, I guess

Mort81 These people in Psychiatry are a bunch of sick ———!. So glad you are okay , it’s inhumane what they are doing to innocent people . I can’t get over it , I never will. Mental health care is a black whole of death. Will be nice to teach that to my kids one day.

The inner restlessness caused by anti-psychotics is hell. I've stopped taking Abilify because it drives me crazy.

Moss Bliss   Dandridge, TN      I have been sent to a psychiatric institution against my will, by a psychiatrist who barely spoke English, and held there for two weeks with my family begging for my release.

mslilith13     Thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment, I appreciate your input!
Just to clarify, I don’t have any particular attachement to the term “illness”, in fact I do believe it is inadequate, while recognising that it’s had its limited use as well. And I certainly don’t subscribe to the idea that, in any case, illness = “there is something wrong” with you in any moral or societal sense. That you suffer from trauma does absolutely not mean there is anything wrong with you, I apologise if it came across that way!  Injury is probably a better term for it, and in that sense it deserves to be treated (by whatever means are right for you)!
